The Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona, in collaboration with DIPC, the University of the Basque Country (EHU), and the Biofisika Institute, has produced the first complete 3D map of the mouse ovary throughout its reproductive lifespan. The study reveals that the ovary appears to actively regulate its egg reserve, maintaining a constant proportion of eggs ready for activation regardless of age. DIPC contributed, together with EHU and Biofisika, to the development of the AI-based image segmentation tool. The study has been published in Nature Aging.
