ICIQ welcomes new PhD Students from FPI-ICIQ 2023 Call

ICIQ is pleased to welcome new PhD students selected through the FPI-ICIQ 2023 call. This initiative supports early-stage researchers worldwide in conducting doctoral research. The fellowships are specifically intended to support doctoral theses that are directly linked to research projects funded under the “Proyectos de Generación de Conocimiento (PID)” call for 2023, issued by the AEI.

The four-year fellowships started during the first semester of 2025, and the selected PhD students will carry out individual research projects under the guidance of ICIQ Group Leaders, with opportunities to develop their careers in both academic and industrial settings.

The program encourages international mobility through short research stays at various national and international institutions, universities, and companies. The selected students will work on the following projects:

– Siqi Du: Molecular clefts, cavitands, and cages derived from calix[4]pyrroles” in the group of Prof. Pau Ballester. Ref: PREP2023-001962

– Marta Romero Ribas: Expanding the chemical space of cobalt synthetic and mechanistic tactics: From Fundamentals to Catalysis, in the group of Prof. Mónica H. Pérez-Temprano. Ref: PREP2023-002082

– Giona Armellin: Cobalt- and Photo-Catalyzed Stereoselective Synthesis in the Group of Prof. Arjan W. Kleij. Ref: PREP2023-001686

These fellowships are funded by the MCIU and the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+).
