Post-doctoral Contract - Computational Biology, Bilbao

Application deadline:

The Computational Biology Group led by Prof. Antonio del Sol at CIC bioGUNE in Bilbao, Spain, seeks a highly skilled and motivated Postdoctoral candidate to work on an exciting project that aims at developing mathematical and computational approaches using multiple sources of biological information at the single-cell level to model cell populations dynamics and to design strategies for cellular reprogramming. Computational predictions will be experimentally validated in different cellular systems. In addition, he/she will participate in the project management and planning, including the supervision of one Ph.D. student.
The Computational Biology Group (CBG) aims to establish a solid infrastructure in developing theoretical framework for computational modeling on biomedical problems, especially in the area of network biology. The CBG group will closely interact with leading national and international experimental labs with a particular interest in stem cell research and regenerative medicine.
Requirements of the ideal candidate:
• Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computer science, engineering, physics or a related discipline. • Strong computational skills. • Prior experience in mathematical modelling of biological networks is strongly desired • A strong first-author publication record in the fields of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology.
Applications should contain the following documents:
• A detailed curriculum vitae. • Cover letter mentioning the reference number. • Description of past research experience and future interests  • Names and Addresses of two or three referees.
