The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The role

The Grants and Partnership Manager will be an integral member of the Strategy and Funding (SaF) department at the CRG. His/Her mission will be to foster the participation of the scientific and technological groups of the CRG in the European Union funding programme for research and innovation (Horizon Europe) by carrying out multiple activities within the context of the ELITE project (ref. GPE2023-001297-P). Specifically, the Officer will support the activities of the department targeted to the identification, promotion and management of a variety of opportunities and programmes for scientific and technological cooperation. In the framework of the work plan of the ELITE project, the Officer will mainly be in charge to:

- Carry out focus analysis and benchmarking of relevant funding programmes and funded projects/networks at both European level and international levels.

- Extract, exploit and curate key information and data from thematic portals, digital platforms and information management software (including AI tools), related to mapping capabilities and European or other sponsored programs.

- Undertake early scouting, analysis and internal dissemination of new sponsored programme.

- Foster connections with external collaborators, entities and stakeholders while ensuring effective liaison with faculty and research support areas to maximise potential for competitive funding and develop new partnerships.

- Facilitate the execution of the activities across the stages of design, development and assembly of new grant proposal’s preparation as well as of grant acceptance arrangements.

- Assist in organizing focus meetings, thematic sessions and networking events related to training and dissemination activities, as well as the participation in targeted sponsored programs.

- Manage relevant databases, maintain records and delivery of internal/external reports.



Overall, she/he will represent a critical hub for cooperation within the SaF department, fostering coordination of efforts with the other research management areas of the CRG, including the Communication, Technology and Business Development and Training teams.

Whom would we like to hire?

Professional experience

Proven experience in an international research support environment.

Previous experience in project management and management of collaborations and networks.

Proven knowledge of EU funding programs, focusing on research and innovation.

Extensive experience fostering collaborations, particularly in scientific and tech sectors.


Education and training

You hold a university degree. An advanced degree (i.e., MsC, PhD) in Life Sciences or related fields may be an advantage.

Languages

You are proficient in English.

Spanish and/or Catalan are desirable.



Technical skills

Experience in extracting and curating key information from various platforms.

Excellent verbal and written communication for effective liaison.

Ability in facilitating the project management aspects of grant proposals and projects, including collecting and organize input, preparing summaries, developing a timeline of tasks, providing templates and edits to working documents.

Skilled in utilizing project management tools to streamline and coordinate activities.

Advanced user of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and other relevant tools for effective document creation and data analysis.

Estimated annual gross salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and consistent with our pay scales.
