Group Project Manager (EU funds)

The mission of the Catalan Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (ICN2) is to achieve the highest level of scientific and technological excellence in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Its research lines focus on the newly-discovered physical and chemical properties that arise from the behavior of matter at the nanoscale. ICN2 has been awarded with the Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence distinction for three consecutive periods (2014-2018, 2018-2022, 2023-2026). ICN2 comprises 20 Research Groups, 7 Technical Development and Support Units and Facilities, and 2 Research Platforms, covering different areas of nanoscience and nanotechnology.

Job Title: Group Project Manager

Research area or group: Theory and Simulation and Physics and Engineering of Nanodevices

Description of Group/Project:

ICN2 is looking for a Scientific Project Manager to manage projects in groups of ICN2.

Main Tasks and responsibilities:

Management and coordination of the group's activities in EU, national, regional and internal projects, fellowships and proposals:
Work closely with the GL and Senior Staff in the group and the competitive funding department to prepare documentation for proposals submissions, projects monitoring and follow-up and technical and financial reporting.
Organization, management and documentation of national and international projects and project/group meetings.
Manage technical and financial reporting with special attention to requirements, deadlines and standards.
Establish highly professional and regular contacts with the project partners/collaborators, project scientific/industrial advisors, reviewers and project officers as well as with other relevant scientific contacts.
Dissemination of group activities (projects communication & dissemination activities) liaising regularly with the ICN2 Communication Department.
Group administration
Visitor management, group's members holidays and absences follow-up, travel management.
Tracking of thesis, publications, group activities, patents and others; group meetings organization.
Manage the budgetary functions including: a) purchasing and cost controls of the group b) allocating funds and controlling spending, c) managing procurements, transactions and finance in liaison with the other departments of ICN2, d) sending the documents required to accomplish the Open Access.
Follow the group fellowships applications and labour contracts, preparation of vacancies and others in liaison with HR.
Requirements:

Education
Degree in Science or Science Engineering (Chemistry, Physics or similar). Other kind of education with relevant experience will be analysed.
Knowledge and Professional Experience:
Bilingual Catalan and Spanish. Advanced level of English.
Advanced level of Microsoft Excel.
2 years of previous experience in a similar role.
This position requires a person with high expertise in European competitive funds, especially with regards to management and reporting processes, with a great ability to work as part of a team and very meticulous with the archive of documentation.

Summary of conditions:

Full time work (37,5h/week)
Contract Length: Permanent.
Location: Bellaterra (Barcelona)
Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience.
