Context And Mission

We are seeking an experienced HR Officer specializing in labor relations to join our team, reporting directly to the HR & Labour Relations Manager. In this critical role, you will drive the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures, while ensuring optimal work conditions and fostering strong, productive relationships with the works council.

As a key partner to the assigned departments, you will provide expert guidance to staff, assist research group leaders with their HR requirements, and contribute to the seamless execution of our HR functions.

Key Duties

Under the guidance of the HR & Labour Relations Manager, the HR Officer will oversee the following responsibilities for the Departments:
o Manage new employee onboarding and incorporation processes.
o Handle work and fellows contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational standards.
o Administer payroll operations accurately and on time.
o Oversee offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for departing staff.
o Serve as the primary HR advisor and point of contact for Group Leaders and their departments.
Coordinate HR processes for students, ensuring compliance and smooth operations.
Support to HR & Labour Relations Coordinator: Provide general support, including document management and addressing staff inquiries.
Works Council Relations: Collaborate with the HR team to manage and maintain cooperative relations with the works council.
Legal Labour Reporting: Prepare and create detailed legal labor reports as required.
HR data management (data intro in the ERP and different reporting systems)
HR projects:
o Support to the department in the internal HR projects

Requirements

Education
University Degree or equivalent professional experience
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
A minimum of 5 years experience in an HR Department, in a similar role
Good skills in Microsoft Office (especially in Excel)
Demosntrabel expertise in labour law and regulations
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Experience in an international and multi-cultural environment will be valued
Experience in a research centre will be valued

Excellent verbal and written communication (Spanish, Catalan and English)

Conditions

The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department
We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
Duration: Open-ended contract due to technical and scientific activities linked to the project and budget duration
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona
Starting date: December
