IT Support Technician

The Barcelona Institute for Global Health, ISGlobal, is the fruit of an innovative alliance between academic, government, and philanthropic institutions to contribute to the efforts undertaken by the international community to address the challenges in global health.
ISGlobal is looking for candidates with good problem-solving ability for the position of IT Information Systems Technician to join the IT Resources and Services team (SRI).
IT support technicians are expected to display good interpersonal skills as they will interact with colleagues from various departments and executive levels, responding to user needs in a timely manner and diagnose, repair and maintain hardware and software components to ensure the optimal running of all computer systems.


Objectives and Responsibilities:
Installing and configuring new hardware and software components to ensure proper and secure usability ( different OS, Office, AntiVirus, Google Apps, etc…)
Troubleshooting, performing tests and evaluations on new software and hardware.
Assist to senior IT staff on network operating problems and support on network systems infrastructure administration and maintenance tasks.
Management and supervision of periodic backup and recovery operations.
Email Security (AV/AS) management.
Generate and manage technical documentation, including user manuals.
TeamWork, establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.

Requirements (knowledge and experience):
Experience or Knowledge in computer network systems administration (minimum 1-2 years)
Experience or Knowledge with network services management (Samba, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Email, Printing, ...)
Operating Systems: Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, RedHat..), Microsoft Windows (W10-W11, WServer), Mac (OS X)
Experience with Databases administration (SQLServer, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL)
Configuration and maintenance of communications infrastructure and security equipment: Switch, Firewall, Router-Wi-Fi,...
Experience with Virtualization environments (Proxmox VE, VMware, KVM...)
Good written and verbal english communication skills.
Good problem-solving skills.

It will be valued:
A+, Linux+ or Cisco Certified Network Associate accreditation.
Monitoring Infrastructure and Network Services (Nagios, Zabbix, others ...)
Google Applications management (admin profile)
Knowledge or experience of technical support with SAP-BO (customer incidents, Add-Ons updates, etc.)
Experience with Hyper Backup and Active Backup systems, or others (Bacula, RSync,...)
Good treatment and relationship with people, professional communicative, self-taught and willing to work as a team.
