The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. What We Are Looking for
ISGlobal is seeking a Research Technician who is interested in supporting activities in a project on urban re-naturalization in a municipality of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area. The project aims to improve the connectivity and biodiversity of the green infrastructure, the resilience of the municipality in the face of climate change, and the health and well-being of its inhabitants, contributing to the achievement of the 3-30-300 green space rule. All this under the basis of a collaborative and equitable governance.
The Research Technician, will be working closely with the project leader and task coordinator. The Research Technician will give support through diverse activities across a citizen-science process, including the research project design, the environmental and health monitoring and statistical analysis, to evaluate the re-naturalization of a public space for a more resilient, healthy and sustainable neighbourhood.
PLAN VILADECANS 3-30-300 is supported by the Biodiversity Foundation of the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO) in the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), financed by the European Union - NextGenerationEU.
Training and experience /Qualifications
Undergraduate degree in environmental, biological sciences is preferred.
Experience (at least 1 year) in developing fieldwork, fieldwork coordination support, data collection and descriptive analysis.
Experience with questionnaires administration.
Experience with systematic observation tools, participatory process and qualitative methods will be an asset.
Key Responsibilities
Support all aspects of the research project.
Work with the project coordinator to ensure timely accomplishment of project´s objectives and deliverables.
Specific Duties
Assist in organizing workshops with citizens
Assist in monitoring environmental and health data
Assist in data analysis and presentation
Assist in literature searches and compilation of reports
Participate in the writing of the project results report
Participate in drafting scientific manuscripts
Assist in the design and preparation of presentations
Provide general administrative support to including scheduling and preparation of events and meetings
Attend meetings with project partners including taking of meeting minutes
Other duties as assigned

Selection Process
The selection process is designed in two phases:
1 - Interview phase of a technical nature, with the team that requires the incorporation. To assess the person's skills and CV.
2 - Meeting with HR with the finalist(s) to finish assessing the profile and discuss contractual and institutional issues.
If needed any technical test could be pass. A Psychological Competency Evaluation Test will be required for the structural or transversal positions.
In accordance with the OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for every vacancy at the beginning of the process.
