IRB Barcelona is seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join the Pediatric Cancer Epigenetics group, which seeks to understand the molecular mechanisms that drive malignant transformation during development, with a view of identifying novel and personalized treatment strategies.
The selected candidate will work at the interface of basic and translational research, interacting closely with researchers at IRB Barcelona and the Pediatric Cancer Center Barcelona.
DUTIES:
Monitoring and ordering supplies; operating and trouble-shooting lab equipment; organising data repositories; managing mouse colony
Assisting team members in planning and execution of experiments
Implementing established and new experimental approaches under minimal supervision
Analysis and interpretation of data
Contributing to an enriching, positive and inclusive lab environment.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS:
Must Have – Required:
- Experience:
Bachelor´s or Master´s degree in molecular/cell biology, immunology, biomedicine or another related field. Candidates with an advanced specific vocational training “PFII” in the related field are also welcome to apply.
Animal experimentation licence is necessary, with hands-on experience in rodent-handling procedures. Experience with survival surgeries and/or colony management is a plus.
Minimum of a year of experience in a similar position.

Proficiency in cell culture
Standard cell and molecular biology techniques
Data organisation, statistical analysis and computer literacy
Fluency in English.

- Experience:
Prior experience in epigenomic (RNA/ATAC/ChIP-seq) techniques is a plus.

Background in cancer or developmental biology desirable.
