The University of Barcelona (UB) offers a vacant position for a PhD student within the Mechanistic and therapeutic approaches in Neurodegenerative disorders research area of the Institute of Neurosciences. The project will be focus on the study of epigenetic and epitranscriptomic mechanisms in Huntington´s Disease under the direction of Dr. Esther Perez and Dr. Veronica Brito.

Education and qualifications:
• Candidate must hold a Degree in health sciences (biology, pharmacy, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular biology, and biomedicine sciences.
• An official university master's degree leading to a doctorate.

Experience and knowledge:
• Common biochemical and molecular biology techniques such as Western Blot, PCR, flow cytometry, cell culture, immunohistochemistry, etc.
• Good communication skills and fluency in English spoken and written.
• Employing statistical methods in data analysis and results interpretation.
• Certificate of the "Training course for research personnel using experimental animals."

Main responsibilities and duties:
• Collaborate in the design of the experiments, their performance, as well as the subsequent statistical analysis and interpretation of the data.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Manuscript writing. • Supervise staff or students as needed.

Labour conditions:
• Full-time position: (40h/week).
• Start: First months 2024 (maximum May 2024).
• Length of the contract: 1 year, possibility to extent to three years.
