Open Position: Postdoc on magnetic insulator-based memory devices at ICMAB

A postdoctoral position is opened in the framework of the SMARTSPIN project with ICMAB researcher Can Onur Avci.

One postdoctoral position will be available at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC) within the project SMARTSPIN (Smart designs for efficient spintronic devices controlled by electric fields and currents) funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain.

The project will focus on developing innovative magnetic insulator-based spintronic memory devices where the information can be written and read by all-electrical means. The outcome will lead to a first-of-a-kind device prototype with a potential to create a new paradigm in insulating spintronics and memory/logic device architectures.

The successful candidate preferentially has prior expertise in the fabrication and engineering of magnetic thin films by magnetron sputtering or a similar PVD technique. Experience in electrical and optical characterization of magnetic materials, device fabrication in cleanroom facilities, and a good overview of the spintronic research will be valued.

How to apply
Interested applicants should send a motivation letter, CV (only PDF please), and names of two referees to Can Onur Avci (cavci@icmab.es). Applications will be evaluated as received.
