PhD Position on assessing the impacts of sweater intrusion on the socioecological systems of the River Gambia (Africa)

The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) is offering a 4-year PhD position on assessing the impacts of sweater intrusion on the socioecological systems of the River Gambia (Africa). The researcher will assess the effects of changes in land uses and climate, characterize the interactions of the River Gambia social-ecological system, and map the spatial inequalities on the social impacts of freshwater salinization of the Gambia river, among other tasks.

The candidate must hold MSc. studies (completed or in course) in Earth Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Biology, or Social Sciences. Knowledge of Geographical Information Systems, hydrology, ecology, biogeochemistry and environmental DNA will be positively valued.
