Post-Doctoral Fellow Position Super-Resolution Imaging of 3D Genome Organization

The Institute

The Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) is an international biomedical research institute of excellence, based in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 scientists from 44 countries. The CRG is composed of an interdisciplinary, motivated, and creative scientific team that is supported both by a flexible and efficient administration and by high-end and innovative technologies.

In April 2021, the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) received the renewal of the 'HR Excellence in Research' (https://www.crg.eu/en/content/careers/hr-excellence-research) Award from the European Commission. This is a recognition of the Institute's commitment to developing an HR Strategy for Researchers, designed to bring the practices and procedures in line with the principles of the European Charter for Researchers ( https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/charter/european-charter) and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers (Charter and Code) ( https://euraxess.ec.europa.eu/jobs/charter/code).

The role

A unique opportunity is available in the Reprogramming & Regeneration laboratory, led by Pia Cosma for a candidate seeking to work within a multidisciplinary environment at the Center for Genomic Regulation (CRG). The successful candidate is expected to contribute to research focused on elucidating how nuclear architecture and chromatin looping regulate cellular function in somatic and stem cells. They will use advanced super-resolution microscopy imaging and quantitative approaches to resolve genome structure, as well as the dynamics of architectural and transcriptional machinery proteins in somatic and stem cells.

About the team

Cosma’s team is investigating the functional role of 3D genome organization using single-molecule localization microscopy, genomic and modeling approaches (Ricci et al. Cell 2015; Neguembor et al. Molecular Cell 2021; Neguembor et al. Nat Struct Mol Biol 2022, and Martinez-Sarmiento et al. Cell Reports 2024). The team includes lab members who are experts in imaging, cell biology, and computational science.
