Description
The candidate will work on i) the development of novel eco-friendly flame retardants, such as P-containing, N-containing, Si-containing, etc., high-performance flame retardants and ii) the study of fire behaviours and flame retardant mechanisms. It is open to any new idea from the candidate in order to achieve the final targets.

The candidate will acquire hands-on experience with the synthesis of flame retardants, including designing and characterizing halogen-free flame retardants, etc. The candidate will gain experience in fundamental and applied research in materials science, engineering, and high-performance polymers, opening perspectives in academia and industry.


Requirements

Candidate should hold a PhD in Chemistry or Materials Science and Engineering or a related field/discipline with excellent academic credentials and a strong commitment to developing scientific activity in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Fluent English (written and oral) is needed.

Previous experience in flame-retardant polymers and flame-retardant mechanisms will be highly appreciated and positively evaluated.

The post-doctoral contract is for 12 months. A renewal contract is possible.
