Postdoctoral position through MSCA Fellowship application

The BiSC project (www.projectebisc.org) is a new generation cohort lead by the Childhood and Environment Programme (https://www.isglobal.org/en/-/salud-infantil). In BiSC, we have assessed prenatal exposure to several environmental factors (including air pollution and noise), behavior/lifestyle and health of pregnant women and fetal and postnatal development. We have also collected a number of biological samples from the mother, father and child, including saliva, blood, urine, hair, nails, meconium, stool, vaginal swabs, placenta, cord blood. We are a very active team of more than 20 researchers and technicians, including data scientists, health professionals, biologist, epidemiologists and psychologists. The BiSC team is co-lead by four PIs (Jordi Sunyer, Payam Dadvand, Ioar Rivas and Mireia Gascon) and one staff scientist, Mariona Bustamante.

We are seeking a candidate to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship (https://marie-sklodowska-curie-actions.ec.europa.eu/calls/msca-postdoctoral-fellowships-2023, deadline 13th September 2023) to join our young, dynamic team within the BiSC project (www.projectebisc.org. The specific research topic can be proposed by the candidate, based on the available data/samples in the cohort. However, our current research lines are: neurodevelopment, mental health, cardiovascular health, obesity, metabolic disorders, omics in general (e.g. microplastics, metabolomics, gut microbiota composition and activity, endocrine disruptors, immune cells/markers), respiratory and immune health, and exposure assessment (air pollution, noise, green spaces, urban environment and other exposures), including family environment. Depending on the topic, the candidate will work with one or more of the co-leaders of the project. The candidate has to have significant accomplishments in the area/topic chosen, and should be committed to excellence in research in a multidisciplinary environment, with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Candidate must fulfill the eligibility requirements to apply for current MSCA open call (see below).
