Postdoctoral Researcher (Ref: Postdoc 2026-01 JR)

The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Galán-Mascarós research group. This position will be funded by European Project ERC Synergy MAGNESIS.

Description of the project: ICIQ is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. JR Galán-Mascarós. The candidate will Supervision and execution of electrochemical experiments under magnetic fields for OER and CO2RR electrocatalytic reactions. The candidate will write reports and scientific activities and coordinate the data exchange and collaboration with the partners in the ERC SyG grant MAGNESIS.

Requirements:
• The candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry or equivalent at the time that the contract is initiated.
 Experience in electrochemistry, materials synthesis and characterization.
 Strong expertise in CO2 reduction: performance and product analysis.
 Ability to cooperate with experimental teams.
 Ability to present the results of research in scientific journals and in international congresses and also to non-scientific audiences is a must.
 Proven excellent knowledge of English.
 S/He should be motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic and capable of working independently as well as in a team.

We offer:
 A 3-year full-time contract.
 Remuneration according to individual’s qualification/experience.
 Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments
 Incorporation: April 2026

Selection Process
ICIQ’s selection process usually entails the following phases:
• Pre-selection: The pre-selection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates’ CVs. This phase is merit-based.
• Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee.
• Offer Letter: Once the successful candidate is selected, the People Unit will extend a Job Offer, specifying the start day, salary and overall job conditions.
