Project Assistant for Tuberculosis Group

The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
ISGlobal is seeking a Project Assistant who will assist Dr. Alberto García-Basteiro, leader of the Tuberculosis Group, with the smooth running of administrative and communications tasks related to TB research projects and the overall TB unit.

The research group on Tuberculosis focuses on 4 main lines of investigation:
- Determine disease burden in vulnerable populations (children, HIV-infected, pregnant)
- Assess the impact of innovative strategies for the active search for cases based on spatial parameters, population density and microbial load in index cases
- Evaluate new diagnostic tools and novel vaccines in contexts of high prevalence of TB and HIV
- Evaluate new biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment nmonitoring of TB

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assisting with the organization (documentation, reporting) of face to face of in presence and online meetings & events
Organize and update the agenda of the principal investigator
Planning and organizing trips, and high-level visits required for the projects
Support the PI in any administrative need related to research projects
Management of communications for the tuberculosis (TB) research group, including the planning, creation, and execution of content for social media and the website. Coordination of the digital strategy to highlight the group’s activities, achievements, and events, ensuring alignment with institutional branding.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Biology, Global Health, Political Science, Sociology or related fields
Professional Training in Administration
2+ working experience in administration / project assistant roles
LANGUAGE LEVEL
Proficiency in English and Spanish.
Catalan and Portuguese desirable
CONDITIONS
Duration: Permanent contract with 6 months probation period
Starting date: August-September
Contract Type: Full time
Salary: 23.000€ / 30.000€ gross annual
