The project, co-led by the Institute of Astrophysics of Andalusia (IAA-CSIC), is being developed within the framework of the ESO Public Surveys, exceptional competition programs designed to drive significant advances in astrophysics through a high number of observation hours. The proposal has been one of two selected and will have 140 nights of observation—about 1,300 hours—of which about 500 will be dedicated to the characterization of stars in the Galactic Center.
