Cleanroom Process Engineer

The Barcelona Institute of Microelectronics (IMB-CNM CSIC) is a reference centre for research and development of new Micro and Nano Technologies, Components, and Systems, aimed at applying these technologies to help solve the social challenges currently faced by European citizens. It has been part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) since its founding in 1985 and has been awarded the AEI María de Maeztu Unit of Excellence accreditation.
The main activities of IMB-CNM include basic and applied research, development, education, and training in micro- and nanotechnologies, components, and systems. Its mission is to advance knowledge and contribute to implementing solutions based on these technologies in new products to address societal challenges.
The Integrated Micro and Nanofabrication Cleanroom (SBCNM) is a Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) dedicated to the development and application of innovative technologies in the field of microelectronics, together with other emerging micro- and nanotechnologies. It includes more than 150 process equipment systems installed within 1,500 m² of controlled environment space.
What you will do:
The hired person will join the metallization and implantation areas of the cleanroom at the IMB-CNM, part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). Their work will mainly focus on the operation and maintenance of thermal evaporation (e-beam), cathodic evaporation (sputtering), and ion implantation equipment, as well as the associated technological processes.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the equipment (operation and maintenance) and the associated processes under their responsibility.
• Carry out process tasks for their equipment and within the area, as well as their verification.
• Record the operating parameters of the equipment and report any incidents.
• Communicate and jointly resolve incidents in manufacturing and production runs together with project managers.
