PLATO was placed in the Large Space Simulator (LSS) chamber at ESA’s Test Centre on February 18 and, since the beginning of March, has been subjected to the extreme temperatures and vacuum characteristic of space. The mission is scheduled to launch in January 2027 aboard an Ariane 6 rocket.
