The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) (CNIC) has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research center of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.
Functions:
A postdoc with a technical profile in epidemiology is required to support the participation of the Multidisciplinary Translational Cardiovascular Research (MTCR) Group in the Joint Action on CARdiovascular disease and DIabetes (JACARDI) related to the group working packages. The main functions of this position are:
• Scientific and technical support for the development of WP10 activities on patient self-care, including the technical design and scientific content of a mobile application to improve adherence to post-infarction secondary prevention. The role will also ensure that the development of the app aligns with JACARDI’s cross-cutting objectives, particularly equity and sustainability (WP4), by integrating social determinants of health and epidemiological considerations relevant to cardiovascular prevention, risk stratification, and population needs.
• Support the implementation of the Cardiovascular Health Atlas and the GENDER HEALTH pilots, which includes search, classification and representation of cardiovascular health indicator sources, sources of indicators of social determinants and sex-segregated cardiovascular health indicators.
• Participation in any other activity required by JACARDI activities, including interaction and collaboration with all CNIC working packages participants for the development of tasks, deliverables and pilot actions.
• Participation in the communication and dissemination of JACARDI activities.
• Support of the preparation of JACARDI scientific publications, political briefs, reports dissemination materials, and project deliverables.

Mandatory Requirements
1. PhD degree
2. Master’s degree in Epidemiology
3. Medical Degree with a medical specialist training in a relevant field (e.g., Public Health, Preventive Medicine or a clinical specialty related with cardiovascular disease)
4. More than 2 years of working experience in clinical or epidemiological research institutions
Valuable Requirements:
• C1. Publication in high impact journals in the field of cardiology and/or epidemiology.
• C2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in epidemiological techniques, including population-based research on health determinants (e.g., psychosocial factors and mental health) and sex- and gender-related differences in health outcomes.
• C3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in clinical or epidemiological research techniques, including participation in systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and meta-analyses.
• C4. Experience in working or studying in international research or healthcare institutions, including participation in international collaborations or projects.
• C5. English proficiency at C1 level or equivalent, both written and spoken.
• C6. Interview.
Positive action: a correction index of 1.5 is established for each year of experience in the evaluation of the number of years in those criteria where experience is evaluated, in the event that the disable person greater than 66% and 1.2 in the event that the disable person greater than 33%.

• 50% part-time position (3,75 hours/day).
• The position may be filled under a temporary replacement contract until the selection process is concluded.
Recruiment Plan:
The RESOLUTION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR PUBLIC FUNCTION APPROVING THE COMMON ACTION CRITERIA FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESSES IN THE STATE PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES of April 11, 2022, sets forth in point 6.1 that “Unless a specific regulation establishes a merit-bases recruitment system (“concurso”), the competition (“concurso-oposición”) must be the recruitment system”.
In CNIC, the specific regulations approved by the Foundation's board of trustees establish a merit-based recruitment system (“concurso”) including a personal interview.
At least the 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 50 points as a sum of criteria C1‐C5) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C6) is 75 points or higher.

C1. Publication in high impact journals in the field of cardiology and/or epidemiology (will be valued based on the interest of each one for the current position). 30%
C2. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in epidemiological techniques, including population-based research on health determinants (e.g., psychosocial factors and mental health) and sex- and gender-related differences in health outcomes (will be valued as a whole on the basis of the time/specialty ratio). 20%
C3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in clinical or epidemiological research techniques, including participation in systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and meta-analyses (will be valued as a whole on the basis of the time/specialty ratio). 10%
C4. Experience in working or studying in international research or healthcare institutions, including participation in international collaborations or projects (will be valued as a whole on the basis of the time/specialty ratio). 15%
