The Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Cardiovasculares Carlos III (F.S.P.) CNIC has been conceived to develop research of excellence, competitive and of international relevance in relation to cardiovascular diseases. The CNIC has a research centre of 24,000 m2, located in Madrid, with more than 6,000 m2 for laboratories equipped with a state-of-the-art infrastructure and equipment.
Functions:
The selected candidate will get training in engineering regenerative therapies to improve cardiomyocyte engraftment in an injured heart. Work will involve the culture of iPS cells, experimental models, use of molecular and biology techniques and microscopy techniques as well as data analysis.
This contract is funded by the European Union through the European Innovation Council, with funding awarded under the EIC Pathfinder Open 2025 call, Project GA 101258941 and acronym HeartVISION.


Mandatory Requirements
1. PhD in the area of life science.
2. At least one first author publication in the cardiovascular research field is required
3. Accreditation for functions A, B and C in experimental models.

Valuable Requirements:
C1. Experience in cardiovascular techniques in experimental models, including echocardiography and ECG analysis.
C2. Experience with gene therapy studies including studies with adeno-associated viruses.
C3. Experience in cell culture includes human pluripotent stem cell culture and cardiac differentiation from induced pluripotent stem cells.
C4. Experience in fluorescence microscopy and image analysis.
C5. International experience, scientific contribution as first author, fellowships and awards.
C6. Interview (it will be conducted in English).
Positive action: a correction index of 1.5 is established for each year of experience in the evaluation of the number of years in those criteria where experience is evaluated, in the event that the disable person greater than 66% and 1.2 in the event that the disable person greater than 30%.

Recruiment Plan:
The RESOLUTION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF STATE FOR PUBLIC FUNCTION APPROVING THE COMMON ACTION CRITERIA FOR THE RECRUITMENT PROCESSES IN THE STATE PUBLIC SECTOR ENTITIES of April 11, 2022, sets forth in point 6.1 that “Unless a specific regulation establishes a merit-bases recruitment system (“concurso”), the competition (“concurso-oposición”) must be the recruitment system”.
In CNIC, the specific regulations approved by the Foundation's board of trustees establish a merit-based recruitment system (“concurso”) including a personal interview.
At least the 3 candidates with the highest score (as long as they reach the minimum of 60 points as a sum of criteria C1‐C5) will be interviewed. The candidate with the highest score will be hired given the total score (C1-C6) is 75 points or higher.

C2 - Experience with gene therapy studies including studies with adeno-associated viruses (assessed globally considering the time/specialization relationship and number of known techniques) - 10%
C3 - Experience in cell culture includes human pluripotent stem cell culture and cardiac differentiation from induced pluripotent stem cells (assessed globally considering the time/specialization relationship and number of known techniques) - 20%
C4 - Experience in fluorescence microscopy and image analysis (assessed globally considering the time/specialization relationship and number of known techniques) - 20%
C5 - International experience, scientific contribution as first author, fellowships and awards (it will be evaluated according to years of experience (2%), number and recognition of international centers (2%), number and bibliometrics of the publications (6%)) - 10%
C6 - Interview (it will be conducted in English) - 20%
