The Hyer-Kamiokande Collaboration accepted IFAE as a new member. HyperK is one of the next generation long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments.

Pere Masjuan has won an Associate Professorship at the Physics Department of UAB (Professor Agregat) in a position generated by himself for his outstanding achievements in research, transfer of knowledge, and outreach, starting the first of September.

Last week the students of the [Postgraduate Program in High Energy Physics, Astrophysics & Cosmology (Mastercosmos)](https://mastercosmosbcn.cat/) defended their Master’s Thesis. A total 13 theses have been tutored by IFAE researchers.

“[Evolution of Data Formats in Very-High-Energy Gamma-ray Astronomy](https://arxiv.org/abs/2109.14661)” by Cosimo Nigro and collaborators has been uploaded to arXiv.

Martine Bosman was recently elected as a Fellow of the European Academy of Sciences (EurASc). [EurASc](https://www.eurasc.org/) is a fully independent international association of distinguished scholars that aims to recognize and elect to its membership the best European scientists with a vision for Europe as a whole, transcending national borders, and with the aims of strengthening European science and scientific cooperation.

Wafers with the ALTIROC2 chip were received this week. This is a major milestone for the HGTD project.R. Casanova played a leading role in the design of the digital part of the chip and its verification.

“Timepix4, a large area pixel detector readout chip which can be tiled on 4 sides providing sub-200ps timestamp binning”, by R. Casanova and others, has been submitted to JINST.

The IFAE GW group has contributed talks to 2 conferences this week: the Gravitational Wave Advanced Detector Workshop (GWADW2021) and the XIV International Conference on Interconnections between Particle Physics and Cosmology (PPC2021)

The ALTIROC2 ASIC for the ATLAS High-Granularity Timing Detector (HGTD) has been submitted. This is a major milestone of the HGTD project.
