The Internal Communications Specialist will play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to enhance internal communications, fostering effective dialogue between employees, departments, and leadership. This position requires a dynamic professional who can create engaging and inclusive communication initiatives, promote transparency and facilitate cross-departmental collaboration. Using various communication channels and tools (intranet, employee engagement apps, internal campaigns, surveys etc), the specialist will contribute to a positive and cohesive working culture, ensuring timely and transparent dissemination of information in a continuous environment of organisational change and transformation.
Key Duties
Plan, develop and execute internal communication strategies that enhance employee engagement and company culture.
Develop, mantain and improve materials, platforms and internal campaigns using a broad mix of media and formats to effectively target BSC community and staff.
Plan and oversee internal events and the promotion of internal activities.
Work closely with internal teams and working groups or create new ones to improve internal processes and communication.
Monitor results and gather employee feedback to assess communication effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
Stay up-to-date with the latest tools, technology, and digital platforms to provide the best methods for effective internal communication.
Ensure internal messaging is consistent with the company's brand voice and external communication efforts.
Work with the design and communication team to create visually appealing and engaging communication materials.
Coordinate the overall strategy with the mission, values and goals of the center in a continuous environment of organizational change and transformation.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Engineering, or a related field.
Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
Experience in internal and corporate communication.
Knowledge of employee engagement, crisis communications, and change management principles.
Experience in managing digital communication platforms such as intranets, email marketing tools, and internal social networks.
Fluency in English, Spanish, and Catalan is essential.
Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
Previous experience working in international and research-focused environments will be highly desirable.
Knowledge of technology and science communication.
Competences
Strategic thinking, exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with experience speaking on behalf of an organization.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with a focus on relationship building.

The position will be located at BSC within the Management Department
We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a good working environment, a highly stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible working hours, extensive training plan, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, support to the relocation procedures
Duration: One year
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus 24th and 31st of December per our collective agreement
Salary: we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona

Applications procedure and process

Development of the recruitment process
The selection will be carried out through a competitive examination system ("Concurso-Oposición"). The recruitment process consists of two phases:
Curriculum Analysis: Evaluation of previous experience and/or scientific history, degree, training, and other professional information relevant to the position. - 40 points
Interview phase: The highest-rated candidates at the curriculum level will be invited to the interview phase, conducted by the corresponding department and Human Resources. In this phase, technical competencies, knowledge, skills, and professional experience related to the position, as well as the required personal competencies, will be evaluated. - 60 points. A minimum of 30 points out of 60 must be obtained to be eligible for the position.
The recruitment panel will be composed of at least three people, ensuring at least 25% representation of women.
In accordance with OTM-R principles, a gender-balanced recruitment panel is formed for each vacancy at the beginning of the process. After reviewing the content of the applications, the panel will begin the interviews, with at least one technical and one administrative interview. At a minimum, a personality questionnaire as well as a technical exercise will be conducted during the process.
The panel will make a final decision, and all individuals who participated in the interview phase will receive feedback with details on the acceptance or rejection of their profile.
