The Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) is seeking a highly motivated professional to join its Administration and Services team as Maintenance and Facilities Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance and technical coordination of DIPC facilities, including buildings, laboratories and experimental infrastructure, contributing to the efficient functioning of the centre within an international research environment.
The role:
The DIPC is seeking a Maintenance and Facilities Manager with the following responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the proper operation, maintenance and upkeep of DIPC facilities and infrastructure.
Technical supervision of building installations (electrical, HVAC, ventilation, plumbing, fire protection, access control and security systems, special systems, laboratory facilities and equipment, gas and cryogenic liquid installations, storage areas and archives, etc.).
Technical liaison with researchers for the design and assembly of experimental systems.
Technical liaison with maintenance companies, external suppliers and technical services.
Coordination with Occupational Risk Prevention (PRL) to ensure continuous compliance with health and safety regulations.
Management and monitoring of incidents, breakdowns, and corrective and preventive actions.
Technical support to Management and Administration on matters related to infrastructure, maintenance contracts, and building extensions or modifications.
Desired background & competences:
Education: Engineering degree preferred. Intermediate or higher vocational technical training (VET, Technical Engineering or similar) will also be considered, preferably in fields related to installations, maintenance, building or infrastructure, provided that prior relevant experience can be demonstrated.
Good level of English (international environment, occasional interaction with suppliers and international research staff).
Basque will be considered an asset.
Ability to organise and prioritise tasks.
Communication and coordination skills with both technical and non-technical profiles.
Problem-solving mindset and orientation towards continuous improvement.
Accuracy, responsibility and awareness of safety and proper use of facilities.
