Physician and Researcher for European Project ENDVOC

The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

ISGlobal and the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona are looking for a candidate research physician specializing in international health, travel medicine, internal medicine, or family medicine. The selected candidate will coordinate and manage the recruitment of participants for a European project study and provide medical care to international travelers.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

- Participate in the clinical team at the International Health Department of the Hospital Clínic, particularly in research projects in Travel Medicine.

- Participation in the recruitment of participants of the ENDVOC study at Hospital Clínic.

- Lead the activities ensuring all study procedures are of high quality and carried out in accordance with good clinical practices, with a focus on the clinical management of patients under their supervision.

- Contribute to the analysis and improvement of study processes.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

- Medical Doctor with specialization in internal medicine or family medicine.

- Experience and knowledge on issues related to Global Health and travel medicine.

- Additional profiles will be considered if highly motivated researchers in other related disciplines.

- Previous experience conducting clinical research (desirable)

- Record of obtaining research funding and publishing in peer-reviewed journals (desirable)

LANGUAGES

- Fluent in English

- Spanish proficiency

CONDITIONS

- The position is for a period of 8 months (until April 2025). The conditions will be agreed according to training and experience.

- Approximate start-date in September 2024.
