We are looking for a Science Communicator to be part of the Unit of Scientific Culture and Innovation (UCC+i) at the ICMAB. You will join a diverse and inclusive team working directly with the Head of Communication and Outreach.
Responsibilities
- Participating in the main tasks of communication and outreach of the Institute.
- It typically involves:
- Communication activities: social media, website, press releases, news. Talk to scientists to create news stories. Produce photos and videos for YouTube, website and social media.
- Planning activities, outreach strategy, propose new projects. Become a member of ICMAB’s Working Group on Outreach and coordinate the researchers involved in this type of activities.
- Events and training activities: organize courses, training events, workshops. Become a member of ICMAB’s Seminars & training Committee.
- Other responsibilities may include: Newsletter production, contact with schools, photo and video editing, participate in training events, manage social networks, publicize seminars and events, organize internal events, internal communication, merchandising, attend communication events.
Requirements
- University Degree. A science-related degree or an audiovisual-related degree are equally highly valued.
- A Master, though not compulsory, will be valued, especially in the field of communication, science communication, video editing, etc. Applications without a Master's degree but with demonstrable equivalent experience will be accepted.
- Advanced level of Catalan, Spanish and English is highly desirable.
Skills
- Passion for science.
- Work in interdisciplinary teams with people from different backgrounds at different levels (scientists, administration, technicians)
- Planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks.
- Written and spoken Catalan, Spanish and English
- Graphic design, social media and web content management skills will be valued.
- Photo and video editing will be highly valued.
- Open to flexible working hours.
Experience
- Experience in a similar position in a research institution or similar.
- Working experience in science communication and outreach, photo and video editing, will be valued.
Conditions
- Indefinite contract
- Salary depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications and CSIC rules (details on application)
- Full time
- Possibility of 1-day/week remote work and flexible working hours.
- Start from January 2024
