Technician | Multiplexed electrophysiology platform

The University of Barcelona (UB) offers a vacant position for a Technician within the Pathophysiology of Nervous System Disease research area of the Institute of Neurosciences (UBneuro).

The Institute of Neurosciences (UBneuro) was created under the premise to gather all research at the University of Barcelona that focused on a common goal: understanding the nervous system as a whole to give response to society challenges. Recognised with the prestigious María de Maeztu Excellence Unit accreditation, we house diverse research groups in neurobiology, neuropharmacology, pathophysiology, neurology, psychiatry, clinical psychology, neuropsychobiology, and cognitive neurosciences. We are searching for a motivated technician to carry out the following tasks:
- Operating and maintaining the equipment needed for electrophysiology experiments, including electrodes, amplifiers, and data acquisition systems;

- Preparing samples (i.e., cells, oocytes, brain slices) for electrophysiology recordings;

- Conducting electrophysiological experiments;

- Analysing the data generated from electrophysiology experiments and presenting results in clear and concise formats;

- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of experiments, including experimental protocols and results.

Candidates may have experience in electrophysiological techniques, cell culture, brain slices, data analysis, and basic statistics.

One-year contract following the rules established on the call.
