Diego Blas obtains a Leonardo grant from the BBVA Foundation

Diego Blas has been awarded one of the 58 Leonardo Grants by the BBVA Foundation for his project, “Detection of Gravitational Waves in Lunar Orbit and in Artificial Satellite Orbits”. Selected from among 1,400 applications, his research aims to address a critical gap in our current understanding of gravitational waves.

The PAUS survey releases a new cosmic distance catalogue to unlock the mysteries of the Universe formation

The catalogue collects data for over 1.8 million objects gathered over 200 nights between 2015 and 2019. IFAE led the construction and integration of PAUCam, which was entirely carried out in-house in Barcelona.

Euclid release its first images: the dazzling edge of darkness

Euclid’s first full-colour images are the sharpest ever across such a large patch of the sky and looking so far into the distant Universe. IFAE, ICE-CSIC and PIC has been responsible for the development of the Filter Wheel Assembly, one of Euclid instruments and for generating cosmological simulations.
