Ramon Pascual and Enrique Fernández have written an [obituary on Jack Steinberger](https://drive.google.com/file/d/1uMtX2W4Dz2L6HQorY4LmBf3P78DHq5y0/view?usp=sharing), which is published in the last issue of the RSEF’s Spanish Journal of Physics.

The ATLAS Upgrade Week will take place next week ([online](https://indico.cern.ch/event/964025/)). IFAE members will be presenting results and convening various sessions in the ITk Pixels and HGTD upgrade projects.

Sebastian Grinstein has been endorsed as deputy Project Leader of the High Granularity Timing Detector (HGTD) of ATLAS by the Institute Board.

The installation culminates more than two years of work at IFAE for the design and construction of a novel and innovative device to control and monitor the stray light inside the experiment, a persistent source of noise at interferometers. For the first time a Spanish Institution is making a significant hardware contribution to a worldwide leading gravitational waves experiment using ground-based interferometry.
