Successful Start of Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) Follows Record-Setting Trial Run

International collaboration aims for 3D map of the universe, unraveling of mysterious ‘dark energy’. IFAE participates in the DESI Barcelona-Madrid Regional Participation Group, made up of researchers from IFAE, ICE-CSIC, CIEMAT and IFT-UAM. The instrumental contribution to DESI of the group consisted of the design, construction and installation of the complete Guiding, Focusing and Alignment system (GFA).

New Neutrinos Group Publication

“[Graph neural network for 3D classification of ambiguities and optical crosstalk in scintillator-based neutrino detectors](https://journals.aps.org/prd/abstract/10.1103/PhysRevD.103.032005)” has been published in Phys. Rev. D 103, 032005. The publication is part of the PhD thesis of Sebastian Pina-Otey, an industrial PhD student of IFAE and Grupo AIA and is related to the ND280 Upgrade project.
