DESCRIPTION

IMDEA Energy is opening a Postdoctoral Position for the Photoactivated Processes Unit, looking for talented and motivated candidates to work on the productions of Solar Fuels by Photo(thermo)catalytic processes

Tasks Description:

Design and synthesis of photo(thermo)catalysts.
Advanced characterization of catalysts using different physicochemical and optoelectronic techniques, including in situ and operando spectroscopies.
Photo(thermo)catalytic testing (at lab scale and semi-pilot plant scale). Catalytic tests may include CO2 reduction, hydrogen production from water, and N2 fixation to ammonia.
Design of photo(thermo)catalytic reactors.
Communication and dissemination of research results through high-quality scientific channels, which include high-impact scientific publications, conferences, workshops, etc.
Writing project proposals for national and international calls related to the research topic.
Supervision of doctoral, master's or bachelor degree students.


REQUIREMENTS

Compulsory Requirements

PhD. degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical engineering or equivalent.

Other merits to value:

Accredited experience on heterogeneous catalysis, particularly photocatalysis and/or photothermal catalysis.
Experience on catalyst synthesis.
Experience on general characterization and photo(thermo)catalytic testing.
Knowledge on reactor engineering.
Good track record of indexed scientific publications.
Proven oral and written communication skills in English.

Work experience related to the profile of the job position.
Knowledge of English.
Motivation for accomplishing high-quality research.

CONDITIONS

Remuneration: Between 38.000 € – 41.000€ per year, depending upon qualification and expertise.
*The contract includes all the benefits of the Spanish Public Health and Social Security System.

Duration of the contract: Until the end of the project, with the possibility of extension.
